Meyer Companies To Host Relay For Life Fundraiser At Waterville USA April 30

CENTURY 21 Meyer Real Estate, Meyer Vacation Rentals and Waterville USA will host an afternoon of amusements designed especially for local and visiting families.

The annual Family Fun Day event will be held from noon to 5 p.m., Sunday, April 30, at Waterville USA with all proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Waterville USA is located on Ala. Hwy. 59 in Gulf Shores.

Stacy Odom and Frances Warne, both of Meyer Vacation Rentals’ Guest Relations team, serve as chairpersons for this important fundraiser, which raised more than $12,000 in 2016.

“We urge families to join the fun designed for the entire family and at the same time raise money for a very worthy cause,” Odom said. “A Relay for Life donation of $10 per person provides an afternoon of abundant entertainment at Waterville USA’s amusement park. Little ones, teens and adults will all enjoy the rides and activities that include mini-golf, roller coaster, go-karts, kiddie rides and other amusements.”

Warne added, “This unlimited pass would normally cost $24.95 on any other day. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Meyer office at 1585 Gulf Shores Parkway in Gulf Shores. All advance tickets purchased prior to the day of the event on April 30 will entitle the ticket holder to a free food voucher valued at $5 to be provided upon arrival at the event and redeemed during Family Fun Day. Flowrider, the Escape House, and arcade games are not included in the price of admission, and waterpark rides are not yet open.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Waterville USA again this year for this exciting afternoon of family-oriented fun,” Odom said. “The end result of this fundraiser is 100 percent of the $10 admission fee donated to the American Cancer Society to fight cancer and provide services to cancer patients and their families.”

“We hope you will make your plans to join the fun,” Warne added.

A beach condo or house in Gulf Shores is a perfect spot from which to enjoy Waterville USA and the area’s many other attractions and restaurants.

Dirty Cars Save Lives

While it may be fun to write something like “Spring Break 2011” or “Gulf Shores or bust” by drawing your fingers across your car’s dirty windows, I’m sure most will agree that having a clean car just makes us feel better.

Relay for Life Car Wash, American Cancer Society, Meyer Real Estate

Your dirty car + discount car wash + a good tip for drying & vacuuming = funding for Relay for Life.

So we’re offering you an opportunity to not only feel good about your clean car, but to feel great about helping raise money for Relay for Life at the same time. We’ll even toss in some elbow grease! Here’s how it works:

— Come to Meyer Real Estate to purchase a ticket for the Ultimate Car Wash Package, good at Pinnacle Car Wash in Gulf Shores.

— Pay only $10.95 for a $12.95 value. A portion of that price goes toward the American Cancer Society’s fundraising efforts.

— Take your car to be washed any day through March 31, 2011, 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. But if you wash your vehicle on Saturday, March 26, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., let the folks from Meyer Real Estate take care of the drying and vacuuming. That service is free—but please tip generously, as your tips will go toward cancer research and awareness.

Say goodbye to your dirty car and say hello to supporting a good cause!

Coins, Crafts and More

Two local events this weekend promise a change of pace from the typical beach and/or winter activities. And after the recent cold spell, these offerings give you fun reasons to get out of the house and enjoy the warmer air.

Saturday morning, January 16, is the 7th Annual Yard and Craft Sale indoors at the Orange Beach Community Center, 27235 Canal Rd. Proceeds benefit American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, so you’ll want to take advantage of one of the area’s largest yard sales to find bargains and to make a difference at the same time.

The sale begins at 7 a.m. and ends at noon, but get there early for the greatest selection of items. Sausage biscuits & gravy and coffee are available to keep your energy up as you wander through the aisles and booths. For more information, call 251-981-1524.

Saturday and Sunday, January 16 & 17, brings the 8th Annual Gold Coast Coin & Currency Show to Foley. The free admission encourages visitors of all ages, and everyone can learn many interesting tidbits by taking time to talk with the folks involved.

Located at 407 E. Laurel (Hwy. 98 east of Hwy. 59), the doors will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Prizes will be awarded, so be sure to buy your raffle tickets. Call 251-943-1486 for further information.
