Fifteen voices beautifully weave their way through music from Mozart to today, highlighting the splendor and power of sacred choral repertoire.

Experience the magnificence of sacred choral music with The Dowling Singers on February 4 & 5, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Gulf Shores.
- You may be familiar with such well-known pieces as “A Mighty Fortress,” “I Believe” or “The Lord’s Prayer” but these dramatic renditions might be new to you. You’ll be touched by the lush beauty of “O Lux Beatissima,” “O Nata Lux” and “Sing Me to Heaven.” And it will be difficult to sit still during the upbeat spiritual “Rock My Soul.”
Rather than read about these songs or the others in this one-hour presentation, treat yourself to an inspiring musical evening with the talented, auditioned members of The Dowling Singers. The ensemble is expertly led by Don Dowling, the founder and former conductor of the area’s popular Coastal Chorale, and founder/former conductor of the Peoria (Illinois) Area Civic Chorale.
The February 4 & 5 presentations in the Founders Hall at First Baptist Church of Gulf Shores are free, with no tickets required; a goodwill offering will be collected during each performance. Doors will open at 6:30 for the 7:00 performances. The church is located at 2200 W. 1st St., at the southwest corner of the Intracoastal Canal Bridge.
