Marty McIntosh CD Release Party

Thursday, December 1st, 2011

Gulf Shores resident Marty McIntosh is bringing a taste of Nashville to town. To celebrate his first CD, he will perform some of the music from it, and then enjoy meet-and-greet time with his local fans. Rumor has it that a special appearance will be made by country music great David Frizzell, too.

Celebrate country artist Marty McIntosh's The American Night CD release in Gulf Shores Friday, December 2, 2011.

Marty’s CD, The American Night, was recorded in Nashville for the Nashville America Records label. The first single—the title track—has been on the radio, and the second single, “She Makes Me Look Good,” has recently arrived at the radio stations.

Marty wanted to bring a bit of the Nashville culture to his hometown, to show his appreciation for those who have supported him. But he also believes strongly in the importance of community, so he has made this CD release party about more than just himself or his fans. The admission fee of $10 will be waived if you bring a new, unwrapped gift to donate to Toys for Tots, and a portion of all album sales during the release party will go to this organization. (Hint: A CD would make a great gift or stocking stuffer!)

Come party and hear some fun new music at Cohiba Dunes Cigar Bar in the Pelican Place Shopping Center just north of the Gulf Shores island. The event is scheduled for 7–9 p.m. this Friday, December 2, 2011.

Mac Walter—No Ordinary Talent

Thursday, April 21st, 2011

It’s not every day that you get to experience up-close a guitar virtuoso who developed his own fingerstyle approach to incorporate into folk, jazz, country, rock and blues.

Mac Walter, guitar, concert, Beach CITE Studios, Orange Beach, Alabama, Gulf Shores

Folk, swing, jazz and more by virtuoso guitarist Mac Walter who uses his own fingerstyle method to create masterful music.

But it’s not an everyday kind of talent that brought Mac Walter to the forefront. Although already playing ukulele at age 15, he was encouraged to explore the guitar. Three months later he was playing in a band and he hasn’t stopped playing since. His fascination with music led him to study at Berklee College in Boston and then continue his studies with inspiring, hard-driving teachers, and Mac is now a role model to the next generations of true guitarists.

Beach CITE Studios—located at SanRoc Cay in Orange Beach, Alabama—is offering you an opportunity on Friday, April 22, 2011, to see, hear and feel the passion that exudes from the heart and fingers of Mac Walter.

As seating is limited at this intimate venue, call 251-981-1989 now to claim chairs for you and your friends. The entertainment begins at 7:30; your donation for admission will be accepted beginning at 7:00.

Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival

Thursday, November 11th, 2010

11 days. 26 venues. 170 musicians.

The Songwriters Fest runs through November 21, 2010, along the Alabama/Florida Gulf Coast.

The Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival has been referred to as the world’s largest gathering of songwriters. The talent comes from as far away as Australia and as close as next door, and ranges from those just getting started to well-seasoned veterans of the professional music world.

You’ll want to be in our backyard (Perdido Key, Florida plus Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and Bon Secour, Alabama) between now and November 21 to enjoy as many of these gifted composers, lyricists, singers and instrumentalists as you can squeeze into your schedule. But consider yourself warned: Choosing which venue and who to hear will not be an easy decision! On the positive side, though, no matter where you end up, you won’t be disappointed. And another bit of good news: Nearly all of the venues are free.

Add the Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival website to your Favorites or Bookmarks so you can have the most current schedule available; the songwriter line-up is subject to change without notice, but will be updated online.
