Creating an artistic collage can be as relaxing as meditation while at the same time bringing the participant energy through the creative process and sense of accomplishment.
Artist/instructor Jane Sellier wants to share her love of the collage process with anyone—first-timer to professional artist—who wishes to dabble in or seriously study this medium. The Orange Beach Arts Center is helping her make that happen.
Using any variety of objects, students adhere items to a surface in whatever manner that is pleasing to their eye. The collage may feel complete as is, or any combination of other media (paint, pencil, crayon, etc.) can be applied to embellish the basic work.
Call 251-981-2787 today to register for this popular 3-day workshop scheduled for August 2, 3, and 4, 2011, from 9 a.m. until noon. The fee is only $50, and you’ll walk away with a truly unique creation of your very own, as well as enough skills and knowledge to expand your portfolio.
Even if you choose not to explore your creative side at this time, stop by the Arts Center to admire or purchase works of talented artists. Their ever-changing displays include a number of artistic forms, and you can even enjoy watching a glass artist at work in The Hot Shop.
