Classical Concerts at St. Jude’s

For three Sundays in February, at 3:00 p.m., St. Jude’s By the Sea Lutheran Church is helping to fulfill your need for quality classical and concert music.

Feb. 6, 13 and 20 in Gulf Shores: St. Jude's By the Sea Lutheran Church celebrates 30 years by presenting don't-miss classical concerts.

February 6
From the University of South Alabama, Dr. Jerry Alan will present favorite pieces from his piano repertoire. In addition to works by Mozart, Chopin, Debussy and Albeniz, also featured is a composition by David Z. Durant and created specifically for Dr. Alan. This free concert is in celebration of the 30th anniversary of St. Jude’s By the Sea.

February 13
Harpist Rebecca Atkinson and violinist Matthew Atkinson have prepared a chamber recital that includes masterpieces by Mendelssohn, Saint-Saens, Paganini and Bruch. Freewill donations will be gratefully accepted to benefit the Honduras Orphans Provision Effort (HOPE).

February 20
Cornerstones of the keyboard repertoire have been chosen for a recital by pianist Benjamin Rollings. Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy and Scriabin will be heard. Your freewill donation will benefit the Gulf Coast Arts Council, including funding scholarships for talented young musicians.
