The South Baldwin Community Theatre in Gulf Shores will draw a different crowd than usual on Sunday, March 7.

Sunday, March 7 brings the talents of three country music entertainers to Gulf Shores.
Accustomed to staged plays, musicals and revues, the audience that evening will be treated to a Grammy winner, a reality show star and a musical comedian—all thanks to special arrangements made by our own local 2008 Trop Rock Entertainer of the Year, Brent Burns.
The Grammy winner is none other than Linda Davis. She shared the award with Reba McEntire for Best Country Vocal Collaboration for their duet “Does He Love You?” that became a No. 1 hit. Linda is a popular song stylist who got her start in Nashville as a sought-after session singer.
Earning his big break as the first national champion of TNN’s You Can Be A Star, Lang Scott is an accomplished guitarist and vocalist. He is an MCA recording artist, and some of his songs have been recorded by well-known country stars.
Bill Whyte received the Country Music Association’s award for Best Large Market Personality during his career as a morning radio announcer. His songs are filled with lyrics that keep you laughing throughout his performance and after.
It’s not too late! You can enjoy this entertaining evening by calling 251-948-8863 now to reserve your seats. Tickets are $25/person for the 7:30 show. The theater is located at 2022 W. 2nd Ave.

Enjoy music from the 1940s during February at the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, FL.
You may not think of great music from the Big Band era when someone mentions naval aviation. But in Pensacola this February, the combination will delight folks on three separate occasions.
Kicking off the trio of concerts is the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, led by Buddy Morrow. Their national tour will stop here on February 2, and the musicians will be eager to share their tunes “for the kids” (of all ages).
February 18 brings another famous group to the stage. The Glenn Miller Orchestra will show off their unique jazz renditions, and will leave you happily humming the tunes afterward.
Orlando Jazz closes out the series of concerts on February 27. This eclectic group will highlight the many famous swing bands of the 1940s, evoking memories every step of the way.
All concerts will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Blue Angels Atrium of the National Naval Aviation Museum aboard the Pensacola Naval Air Station. Tickets are $27.50 for the general public and $22.50 for museum foundation members. For details, call 800-327-5002.
There are numerous activities to pursue along the Alabama/Florida Gulf Coast. Take some time to discover your opportunities by visiting for a few days, a few weeks or longer. Choose from the widest variety of beach-area houses and condos when you stay with Meyer Real Estate, and be sure to take advantage of terrific specials and hot deals to get the most for your budget.

Throughout the year, folks brainstorm, make drawings, decide on budgets and assemble their crews for the big night, all with the hope of bringing back the coveted first place awards for the Nautical Night of Lights boat parade in Orange Beach, Alabama, on Friday, December 11.

Nautical Night of Lights and Light Up the Arts - both events Friday, December 11 in Orange Beach, Alabama.
Now in its 24th year, the competition seems to grow stronger each December. Awards are given in three categories: sailboat, powerboat 32′ and under, and powerboat 33′ and up. Judging is based on lighting, music, and crew attire – and there is no end to the creativity on these literal parade floats.
You can greet Santa and enjoy the free parade of his escorts along the Intracoastal Canal, beginning at Zeke’s Marina at 5:00 p.m. and moving through Terry Cove at 5:30, Bear Point at 6:30, The Wharf at 7:30, and ending at LuLu’s Homeport Marina at 8:30 p.m. Just pick a time and a location and join the community in this festive event. For more parade information, contact the Chamber at 251-968-7220.
Looking for even more fun to fill the entire evening? The Orange Beach Arts Center is hosting Light Up the Arts to coincide with the parade. Starting at 6:00 p.m., enjoy wine and chili as you admire the wonderful variety of art works on display. Buy a handblown wine glass (use it for your wine that evening!), participate in the live auction, purchase your favorite work of art, and relax to the beautiful Christmas music played by harpist Rose Brueske.
The OBAC is located along the water (26389 Canal Rd., just .3 miles east of Hwy. 161), so just step outside to cheer the parade as it goes by – and at the same time, tap your toes to the music of Top Hat and Jackie.
All proceeds from the evening support educational programs and more at OBAC. For more information regarding Light Up the Arts or the Orange Beach Arts Center, call 251-981-2787.
