Let Orange Beach Arts Center help you discover your artistic side this winter. Start by learning about just three of their many classes:
Jane Sellier enjoys opening a new world to her beginning art students—even those feeling a bit intimidated by the medium. Her acrylic class (Wednesdays from 9 until noon, beginning January 12 for six weeks, $75) includes step-by-step demonstrations of tools and techniques, allowing you to unleash your creativity through experimentation.
“I can’t even draw stick figures” is commonly heard, and that’s just one of the many reasons to take this drawing class presented by Mary Lou Nicolai. For six weeks beginning Thursday, January 13 (9:30 until noon, $90), you will discover new ways to see shapes and translate them onto paper. Based on the book Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, you will find how to tap into your creative side.
If you like a variety of techniques and media in your art, you’ll enjoy Zach Baisden’s class combining mixed media and acrylic painting. Join this enthusiastic teacher on Thursdays from 12:30 until 2:30 beginning January 13. Your $80 class fee includes some of the materials needed create your masterpiece of common or uncommon materials.
