June Music at SanRoc Cay

The laid-back setting of outdoor music can reel you in no matter where you are. But at SanRoc Cay, there are so many reasons to make plans to hear the music that you’ll find yourself returning again and again.

SanRoc Cay, music, band, live, outdoor, courtyard, Gulf Shores, Alabama, Orange Beach

Enjoy live music in the courtyard at SanRoc Cay Thursdays and Fridays throughout the summer.

Each Thursday evening during June, from 6:30 until 9:30, you’ll find popular local entertainer JJ Mack in the courtyard at SanRoc Cay. And on Fridays, you’ll find either DD Freels (June 3 and 17) or Scott Koehn (June 10 & 24 plus July 1) manning the mics. And it’s all free.

Grab a drink at the outdoor bar and just let the music wash away your cares. Can’t sit still? There are plenty of boutiques to shop and still hear the musicians, or you can wander along the marina to admire the boats and welcome the fishing crews back to land. Hungry? There’s plenty of time to step into a restaurant for a delicious meal and still be treated to a fair amount of tunes—enough to know that you want to return to hear and taste more of what SanRoc Cay has to offer.

Treat your ears to some of the best local music in June, and keep your ears open for the lineup for July. Check the frequently updated schedule at Meyer’s Concerts and Music page so you don’t miss a note.

On Monday, May 30, from 1:00 until 6:00, you’ll find tug-of-war and keg toss games played on the beach. And you’ll hear recording artist Crystal Shawanda and the Misty Loggins Duo taking turns on the special beach stage during this same time frame.

And of course all active, retired or veteran military personnel will be welcome at no charge when providing a military ID or DD214. Rollin’ in the Hay on the Lawn

Gulf Shores Outdoor and In Series is bringing in the bluegrass/Southern rock group Rollin’ in the Hay for an upbeat, free outdoor concert this week.

Rollin in the Hay, bluegrass, gulf shores, alabama

Join the fun during this free concert by Rollin' in the Hay this Thursday, May 26, 6 p.m., behind Gulf Shores' Civic Center.

Rollin’ in the Hay is a Birmingham-based group listed as a “Music Achiever” in the Alabama Music Hall of Fame, so you know you can look forward to a quality performance. Guitars, mandolin, electric bass, vocals and washboard—yes, there had to be one!—are expertly handled by the four band members.

In past years, this series sponsored by the City of Gulf Shores has been concerts only. But this year they are expanding the fun to include other activities in other locations. Watch for information on these fun, varied events held throughout the late spring through early fall.

In the meantime, get out your lawn chairs, blankets, snacks, drinks and bug spray, and join the crowd Thursday, May 26, at 6:00 p.m., on the lawn behind the Erie Meyer Civic Center at the corner of W. 2nd St. and W. 19th Ave. in Gulf Shores.
